Shuichi is the main character of the show, a pink-haired and extremely hyper, lead singer for the band Bad Luck. He is very energetic and extremely melodramatic, often making big scenes and jumping to conclusions about situations (usually when it involves Yuki). While he is not the smartest or the most mature person, he is very fun loving and manages to gain everyone's friendship that he has met. Shuichi wants to surpass his role model Ryuichi, the lead singer for Nittle Grasper, and we later find out that the two are very similar in personality and appearance. Shuichi even admits that he has imitated Ryuichi's hair style and uses the same shampoo. It is with Ryuichi's help that Shuichi is able to gain a lot of confidence in his abilities. Shuichi also has the ability to change his emotions at the drop of a hat. He is usually very happy and outgoing, unless something happens between him and Yuki.

      Shuichi met Yuki one night, in a park. Yuki insults hi lyrics and this devastates the youth. Afterwards he starts to pursue Yuki in order to find out what he has against Shuichi and to also get him to apologize for insulting him. Along the way Shuichi starts to realize that he has developed feelings for Yuki and is also attracted to him. We have to assume that Shuichi is bisexual because he always dated girls before he met Yuki; there just seems to be something about Yuki that attracts Shuichi to him. This is a first for Shuichi and he feels a little confused about it for a while. But he soon grows to love Yuki very much and will pretty much do anything for him. He even starts to live with Yuki in his huge mansion.

      Shuichi loves Yuki with all his heart and he only wants to be with him and expects nothing in return. He wants Yuki to love him back, but Yuki often confuses him by saying that he doesn't like men. So Shuichi dresses up like a girl a couple of times in order to get Yuki's attention in the hopes of making him like Shuichi better. Though every time Yuki sees Shuichi dressed up like a girl, he only calls him a baka and walks away. Though, Yuki acts cold toward Shuichi he often says the opposite of what he really means and has a hard time showing his feeling towards Shuichi in the beginning of their relationship. As time goes on he is able to open up more to Shuichi then anyone else and eventually starts to show his affection for him.
