Chapter 2 We Meet Again “Flight 305 from New York City has just arrived at gate six. Thank you for flying with Tokyo Airlines, and have a nice day.” A monotone voice announced from the loudspeaker. As passengers departed from the plane, friends and family members rushed to greet their loved ones. The members of Dragon’s Soul, Hikari, and J were the last ones off the plane. Once they picked up their baggage, they went to the lobby to be picked up. “They’re late.” J stated, as she looked at her watch. “They’ll be here.” Orphan said, with a soft smile. He brushed his long blue bangs away from his eyes. “They probably got stuck in traffic, After all, Tokyo is a very busy place.” “At least we’re off that plane! If I was on it one more minute, I would have gagged you two!” Ayumi growled out through clenched teeth. She glared at Akira and Hikari through her sunglasses. If looks could kill, Akira and Hikari would be dead and buried. “Ayumi, please calm down.” Akira begged his sister. He gave her his best puppy dog pout. As always, it worked like a charm, or so he thought. “Sure Akira, I’ll calm down.” Ayumi replied, with a bright smile. “You will?” “Yeah…” “YAY! SIS ISN’T GOING TO KILL ME!” Akira shouted with joy. “WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER IS WHEN I’LL CALM DOWN! STOP ACTING LIKE SUCH A CHILD! JUST SIT DOWN, AND SHUT UP!” Ayumi yelled at her childish brother. Akira, not wanting to anger his sister anymore than he already had, did as he was told. “Somebody’s whipped.” mumbled Hikari underneath her breath. “WHAT WAS THAT?!” Akira shouted, as he stood up. “You heard me! You’re nothing but an overgrown child!” “TAKE THAT BACK!” “MAKE ME!” “BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP!” Ayumi yelled, having no more patience for their arguments. A crowd was starting to form around the bickering trio. “I’ll bet you $5.00 that the chick with the braid will win.” A man whispered to his friend, as they watched the verbal fight. If something didn’t happen soon, it would turn into an all out brawl. “Nah, I say the other chick will win.” The friend whispered back. All of a sudden, a loud gunshot was heard! While the crowd dropped to the floor, the bickering trio just stood frozen. J had pulled out her hand-held gun, and shot it into the air. Orphan stood next to J, just gaping at her in amazement. Sure, she had threatened to pull a gun on them before, but he never actually thought she would do it! “There’s nothing to see here folks! Please move on!” J told the crowd, with a smile. After the crowd dispersed, she turned to the three who drew all the attention. “Would you like to tell me,” J began in a calm voice. “WHAT THE HELL YOU’RE DOING?!” “Um… Well you see--” Akira began, before being cut off my J. “I’m going to give you three another chance. If you EVER start another argument like that in public EVER again, let’s just say, you’ll have to deal with the not-so-nice consequences.” J said calmly, as she patted her gun at her side. Akira, Ayumi, and Hikari gulped. “Do you understand?” “Y-yes!” “Excuse me. Are you Dragon’s Soul?” A soft voice spoke from behind them. They turned around and saw a small man with blond hair. His eyes were hidden behind his dark sunglasses. “Yes, and you are?” Orphan asked the man. “I am Tohma Seguich. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” “Tohma-san, have you come to take us to N-G?” Ayumi asked, as she flipped her long braid over her shoulder. “Yes. Do you mind if we go to lunch first? I’m sure you must be starved after such a long flight.” Akira, who finally came out of his daze, nodded his head vigorously. “That sounds nice.” Hikari replied, her answer being the same as everyone else’s. “If you’ll follow me, I’ll take you to the limo. We’ll me meeting my wife and friend at this wonderful restaurant.” * * * * * “This is such a beautiful place!” Hikari gasped, as the entered the fancy Italian restaurant. As a waiter led them to their seats, a man burst through the door. “May I help you sir?” “Yes, I’m here with Tohma Seguichi.” “Yes, they’re seated right over there sir.” “Thank you.” The man then rushed over to the table. “Late as always.” Tohma said to the man with a smile. “Sorry, I ran into traffic!” Orphan turned around to greet the late comer. Time froze. Everything faded around him, as he stared into bright blue eyes. He only whispered on name, “Ryu-chan?” TO BE CONTINUED…
