Vulcan/Hephaistos
Vulcan is the greek god of fire, or in roman mythology, is named Hephaistos.
He was born of Jupiter/Zeus(god of all gods) and his wife Hera, who was also his sister.
When he was born, he was a strong and robust-looking baby, but was so ugly that his parents decided to chase him from the skies so that they would not have to akcnowledge such an ugly child as their own. So as a child, he was thrown down from the skies and for one whole day fell through the air, until he dropped onto the Lemnos island. When he had fallen to the island, one of his legs broke, and the women living on the island tried the best they could to mend it, but they were not able to and Vulcan was lame for the rest of time. There, with his inborn creativity and artistic side, he started by creating bracelets, jewellery, and rapidly progressed to more important projects such as Zeus' sceptre, Apollo's arrows, and much more.
He became known for his artisanat in the immortal world, and Zeus began to regret his action towards his son at birth. To compensate for that humility and sin, he named Vulcan god of fire and king of cyclopes. However Vulcan was feeling lonely on the island, and needed a companion to complete his life. When Zeus could not find a wife for him, Vulcan created a golden chair that bound Hera(Zeus' wife) to it unless Vulcan decided to make it let go. So Zeus had no choice but to give Vulcan Aphrodite's (goddess of love, also called Venus) hand in marriage.
